Our walk with God in seeking our self through Him   step 2 is speaking to God-minded people. Friends and family can build you or break you.   T his journey to learn to love yourself as God loves you is not easy.   It can be easier if you seek God-minded people.   Make friends at your congregation, ask God to send people to you that will help you to get to know God more. In my last post we spoke about a few practical ways to teach yourself how to start spending time with God. Now the next thing that is important for spiritual growth is Prayer. Prayer is a dialogue with God.  In prayer you can absolutely lay yourself at the feet of Christ and talk to Him.  Pray with passion! In my last post I described how I see the best way is for anyone to get to know and love themselves. lets start with step one and delve deeper in the next few posts. 1.   Time with God. There is an immense shifting in your soul when you start to crave the word of God,  when you start to leave your own needs and wants behind and start to ask God for His will in your life.  BUT believe me it is not easy at first. Question:  How can you expect other people to like or even love you if you do not like or love yourself? You must remember you are a child of God the almighty God that never makes any mistake.  If He does not make mistakes and you believe that He made you,  that He formed you in your mothers womb,  how could you think that you are a mistake.     Sounds easy right.  But the truth is in this day and age it is not that easy.  This world we live in teaches us to "live up to the Jones's"  if you don't look like a model or you don't have enough money to buy that house or car or even if you don't have a higher education, that you are inferior. Loving life...  don't we all want to, in some way or another, love our life?  Whether it is financial freedom success in our marriage or having the “perfect” family.
